The games haven't even started to count yet, but some fans are already trying to pick apart the Los Angeles Lakers' new addition.

Russell Westbrook has been a turnover machine thus far. He's tallied 15 miscues through his first two preseason games – but he's not worried one bit.

“Keep that same energy,” said the Lakers star.

Asked about whether the mistakes have been due to learning Lakers coach Frank Vogel's system, Westbrook reiterated that they were mainly on him. But judging by the nonchalant manner in which he addressed the question, he doesn't sound worried at all.

“Oh, it's fine. The turnovers are on me. But good thing they don't count. I turned that b— over 15 times might not do nothing about it. It's on me, though. Easy fix.”

Professional athletes often have to live by the standard of only being as good as your last game. The age-old adage feels amplified for a star like Russell Westbrook, whose best and worst games come as loud as can be. But to use the preseason as as hard evidence for criticism against the Lakers star already probably takes it to the next level.

“I've never had one good preseason, me personally. I'd never really worry about it just because its preseason to figure it out. A lot of guys haven't even played a game since April. We haven't even played with each other yet all on the same floor with each other. So it's still a learning curve and we're gonna find ways to figure it out by the time the start of the season comes. Then when that comes, there's going to be adversity as well.”

Whether the Russell Westbrook trade nets the Lakers a championship remains to be seen. But there's little doubt these preseason contests will be forgotten the moment he drops another monster triple-double.
