The Sixers received a ton of praise during James Harden's early days with the squad. This was right after his blockbuster trade from the Brooklyn Nets went down. After seeing how Harden played alongside Joel Embiid during their first couple of games together, some people were quick to point out that this was the new version of the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal duo.

Well, that comparison did not exactly age well. Shaq himself wasn't very happy when this comparison first came out and now that the Sixers have been eliminated in the playoffs courtesy of the Miami Heat, the Lakers icon was quick to throw a bit of shade at Embiid, Harden, and whoever else who thought that they were the second coming of the Kobe-Shaq super duo:

“only one superduo ever created , yea i said it, ONLY ONE. Miss u kobe,” O'Neal wrote in his post.

It is worth noting that it was Kendrick Perkins who was one of the first to liken Embiid and Harden to Kobe and Shaq. Big Perk was quick to own up to his mistake as he jumped on the Lakers legend's comments section:

“My bad Big Fella for the disrespect!!!! That damn Harden,” Perkins wrote.

Embiid certainly proved himself as one of the top big men in the NBA this season. James Harden, on the other hand, was disappointing, to say the least. As the former Lakers big man said, let's not speak this slander ever again.
