The 2018-19 season hasn't gone as planned for the Los Angeles Lakers. After making their big splash in the offseason by acquiring LeBron James, the team has struggled.

There have been reports of team chemistry issues all season. These issues reached their apex when discussions about a potential Anthony Davis trade became public in early February.

Many speculated that James was trying to single-handedly re-shape his team. One NBA executive even said that the situation killed the team's chemistry.

When discussing the Lakers drama on the Players Only Pregame Show, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal voiced strong opinions. In a way, he sided with James, suggesting that it is the players' responsibilities to play too well to be traded.

Via NBA on TNT on Twitter:

“If you don't want to be traded, if you don't want to be talked about – step up. LeBron is used to playing with guys that hit shots and make him look good. He's not having that right now so, you know, there's two ways to go about that: say something, guys get sensitive and step up, or you say something, and guys just, you know, get sensitive and stay sensitive all year.

“…If you want to be a guy that doesn't get traded, you gotta step up. Period.”

After a tough loss on Monday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, James was quick to call out his teammates. He accused them of allowing the distractions to affect the way they played.
