On Monday afternoon, the Houston Rockets agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony to the Chicago Bulls for cash considerations. However, Anthony will not play a single game for the Bulls, as he is expected to be released.

So, where could the fallen All-Star land?

NBA legend and TNT analyst Shaquille O'Neal thinks the Los Angeles Lakers should be placing a call to the 34-year-old:

“I think he's a Laker fit,” O'Neal said on TNT. “I think a lot of people think he's done. I think he's got one, maybe two more years left. It would be a good city for him. Warm city. I think if he could get some opportunity, especially when LeBron [James] is out of the game to get it going, maybe he could create some type of spark for them.”

Last month, LeBron James said he would like to play alongside of Anthony, but that he would “see what happens” because he “doesn't run the team.”

Many had the Lakers pegged as a potential destination for Anthony once the Oklahoma City Thunder parted ways with him over the summer. However, Anthony ended up landing with the Rockets.

Houston seemed like a questionable fit from the beginning, and the naysayers ended up right, as Anthony played in just 10 games for the Rockets before the team decided it wasn't working. While Anthony has remained on the roster, he hasn't played.

In his limited action with Houston this season, Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds over 29.4 minutes per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the floor.
