Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram burned the Golden State Warriors for a career-high 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting on Wednesday night. The Warriors' defense simply had no answer for Ingram, who was consistently able to get to the rim.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was very complimentary of the second-year forward for his terrific performance, and for former protege and current Lakers coach Luke Walton for putting him in a position to succeed.

Per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints:

Steve Kerr on Brandon Ingram: “He was getting downhill on us & getting to the rim, & he was very aggressive. They [Lakers] got him to some spots where he could operate, & he played a great game.”

Ingram, the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s draft, is showing some great progress in his sophomore season for the Lakers. He’s becoming more assertive and aggressive as a scorer and that has reflected in his numbers. He’s averaging 15.7 points on 47 percent shooting, while getting to the free throw line twice as much as last season.

After proving he can score effectively against truly elite competition like the Warriors, the next step in Brandon Ingram’s development will be to play with the same level of aggressiveness on a consistent basis against every single Lakers opponent.
