The Los Angeles Lakers are seemingly hellbent on bringing a third superstar, so much so that LeBron James and Anthony Davis will reportedly be part of the pitch to bring in Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard.

Los Angeles has have freed enough cap space to sign one more top-tier free agent to a max contract. And according to reports, the Purple and Gold are planning to go all-in to recruit the reigning NBA Finals MVP.

The Lakers have been coveting Leonard since last year, even before the San Antonio Spurs traded him to the Raptors. Now, there are reports that says Kawhi is ‘seriously considering' joining the team as well — making his other suitors and even the Raptors ‘very nervous'.

If the Lakers land Leonard, they will be considered as the title favorites heading to the 2019-20 season. Even if LeBron decides to leave the team after three years, Kawhi, AD, and Kyle Kuzma will still be able to help maintain the success of the franchise.

On paper, there is no team in the NBA that has enough firepower and starpower to take down a Lakers team with James, Davis, Leonard, and Kuzma. So it will be really interesting to see what happens over the next couple of days.

Free agency opens June 30. The Los Angeles Clippers will be the first team to meet with Kawhi, then the Lakers will follow suit. The Raptors, which Leonard led to a championship last season, will be the last team to make their pitch.
