Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant is not interested in making a cameo in Space Jam 2 where current Lakers star LeBron James will be the protagonist in the movie. In an interview with Access, Bryant jokingly said he'll direct the film instead of being in it.

“Being in front of the camera for me was something that never excited me,” Bryant said. “Never. I'll direct it [with a laugh].”

The cast of Space Jam 2 will reportedly begin filming in the summer of 2019. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was the star of the first film. Fans of the movie have been clamoring for a sequel and they have finally gotten their wish.

Bryant is currently doing “The Punies,” a fun podcast for kids. Bryant also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film called “Dear Basketball” in March, adding to his trophy collection. The future Hall of Famer won five NBA championships with the Lakers and was the 2008 regular season MVP.

In 1,346 career games for Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant cemented himself as the greatest Laker of all-time. He holds career averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was an 18-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, made the All-NBA team 15 times, and was a two-time Finals MVP.

Bryant will arguably go down as the second best shooting guard of all-time behind Jordan.
