Former NBA point guard Darren Collison is reportedly working his way back to the NBA. The 34-year-old, who last played for the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this season on a brief 10-day stint, has reportedly signed for LA's NBA G League affiliate in the South Bay Lakers as he looks to try and get another shot at the big leagues.

This report comes via NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic:

Last December, Collison signed a 10-day deal with the Lakers that saw him suit up for three games for the purple and gold. The 34-year-old managed just 12.3 minutes off the bench, averaging 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

Collison has now agreed to a deal with the South Bay Lakers where he will look to make waves in the G League Playoffs. The 6-foot point guard is also hoping that some NBA scouts take notice and perhaps give him a call as a potential late-season signing.

It's not just LeBron James and the Lakers that Collison is eyeing here, although the fact that he's joined their G League affiliate could give him a bit of an advantage. At this point in his career, Collison will be more than willing to sign for any NBA team that shows interest in him.
