The free agency quickly approaching, the rumor train has already left the station for the NBA offseason. At the forefront of all this speculation is where Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James will land this summer.

It is no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers are pegged as the early favorites to land James along with San Antonio Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard and Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Paul George.

However, ESPN's Brian Windhorst says his personal feeling (not a report) is that it is unlikely that they land all three superstars:

“Just about every summer, we've seen massive movement un star players. Guess what? We're going to see massive movement again. I know a lot of people are assuming these guys are all going to end up on the Lakers together. I think it is a longshot at this point.”

It goes without saying that the notion of bringing three players of this caliber in one offseason seems a bit far-fetched. However, the fact that it is being discussed so heavily at this point means it is definitely a possibility. Of course, a number of factors would have to go in the Lakers' favor for them to be able to pull it off.

Los Angeles has already masterfully cleared enough space to sign two players to monster deals this offseason. Meanwhile, the young pieces they have acquired over the last few years gives them assets to work with when it comes to dealing for Leonard. That said, it is easy to see where all the hype is coming from. However, only time will tell if the Lakers are seriously considering pulling this off.
