It would be safe to say that in his 15-year career, LeBron James has pretty much achieved everything he has set his sights on in the NBA. However, the reality of playing alongside his son appears to be becoming more of an achievable goal as opposed to a fantasy.
James himself shared an awesome 2K video of himself dawning the purple and gold alongside his eldest son, Lebron Jr. Many consider this to be a remote possibility, but actually seeing it — despite being a computer simulation — makes one stop to think that, hey, this might actually happen in the next few years.
Let's do the math. LeBron James is 33 now, but if last season is any indication of how his body is holding up, we're probably looking at four to five more years before he decides to finally call it quits. He also did sign a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, which means that he will still be lacing it up until at least the 2021-22 season.
Bronny is 13 and will be graduating high school in four years. By then, many anticipate that the NBA would have abolished the one-and-done policy, giving James Jr. eligibility to be drafted without having to spend at least one year in college.
Then again, a lot of factors will come into play. Will LeBron Jr. be good enough to be drafted in the NBA? Will the Lakers be able/willing to sign him up should the opportunity arise? Will James actually want to share a locker room with his son, and vice versa?
We still have a few years of waiting to do before those questions are answered. Until then, here is the amazing video shared by no less than LeBron Sr. himself.
