Vanessa Bryant, the widow of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, received a standing ovation during the Celebration of Life of her late husband and 13-year-old daughter, Gianna:

The Bryant family has been showered with a sea of support from family, friends, and many who took part in Kobe's life at some point or another — all coming to pay their respects to the Laker great.

Vanessa initially had a hard time speaking publicly for the first time since losing her husband nearly a month ago, as a Jan. 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas took the life of Kobe and Gianna, along with seven others in the aircraft:

However, Vanessa ultimately strongly powered through a lengthy eulogy for Gianna and then Kobe, delivering intimate details about their lives.

Vanessa has also sued the helicopter company Island Express and the pilot, Ara Zobayan — who also died in the crash — for wrongful death, seeking what could be millions in compensation for the loss of “love, affection, care, society, service, comfort, support,” and many other grievances among with compensation for the loss of financial support, burial, and funeral expenses.

Bryant, a 20-year league veteran and Lakers legend, is fourth on the all-time NBA scoring list with 33,643 points. There were 33,643 roses adorning the center stage of this ceremony as a symbol of his impact on the league and his longstanding achievement as a legend of the sport.
