The Los Angeles Lakers signed big man Timofey Mozgov to be a defensive presence in the middle.

He had already displayed enough rim protection playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers before injuries hit.

The Lakers are looking for a return on the $64 million contract he signed in free agency, but it's not completely how we imagined.

Mozgov told Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News that he'll be shooting three-pointers this season in the new offense.

I got a special play for me. It's no joke. I'm serious.

Sure, he could play inside all of the time, but what would be the fun in that?

Currently Mozgov shoots 17.9 percent from beyond the arc, but that was before a team unleashed him.
