Juliana Carlos, a woman Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James dubbed “Courtside Karen,” apologized following an incident between the two during Monday night's Lakers-Hawks game in Atlanta.

Carlos took to Instagram to apologize for “losing my cool” and removing her mask during the courtside encounter. She said she took the back-and-forth between her husband and King James too personally, adding she could have taken the “higher road” instead of acting defensive.

Referees paused the game Monday night after LeBron James appeared to be having a verbal dispute with fans sitting on the sideline.  Subsequent camera angles showed a woman (Carlos) seemingly infuriated and barking something back at LeBron.

Multiple fans—including Carlos and her husband—were ejected from the contest, though that was hardly the end of it. Carlos took to Instagram to chastise James for allegedly using derogatory language and telling her to “Sit the f–k down,” adding she was merely trying to stick up for her husband.

But the only words courtside video could make out was a LeBron barb likely meant for Carlos' husband. James appeared to say “Ol' steroid ass.”

The Hawks conducted a more thorough investigation of the incident afterward, though ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported Tuesday there is no forthcoming ban for the fans who were ejected from Monday night's contest.

LeBron has had ample exposure to hecklers and critics during his 18 seasons in the NBA. This particular incident garnered all the more attention because of Carlos' social media behavior immediately afterward.

However, Carlos has now apologized, suggesting her actions were out of character.
