One of the greatest voices in NBA history will put the mic down following the 2020/21 playoffs. Marv Albert, who currently works for TNT, is set to retire, per the New York Post's Andrew Marchand.

Albert will celebrate his 80th birthday next month and has been doing play-by-play for almost 60 years. He was also inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997.

The Brooklyn native called his first NBA game back in 1963 for the Knicks as a 21-year-old and has gone on to do commentary for a variety of sports including football and hockey.

Marv Albert has been employed by TNT since 1999 and is known for his signature saying “YES!” when a player hits a clutch shot. His voice is well-known throughout the Association and we'll get to hear it just one more time in this year's postseason.

This comes just after TNT announced that former Sacramento Kings star Chris Webber will leave the network. It's unknown who will fill his shoes alongside Albert in the playoffs.

Marv Albert is set to call the Eastern Conference Finals as his last hoorah before retirement. Cheers to a wonderful career. That signature voice will surely be missed across the basketball world for many years to come.
