Darius Slay will remain a Detroit Lion until the end of the season. This probably came as a relieving revelation to some Detroit fans as he is an important part of their defense. However, the corner revealed that he didn't really mind if the team traded him during the trade deadline.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press explained why he didn't mind not getting traded to another team at all.

Asked Wednesday if part of him hoped to be traded at the deadline, Slay said he was indifferent.

“I don’t care,” he said. “I’m a millionaire, dude.”

The corner, who has made 16 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery in the five games he's played so far, is currently nursing a hamstring injury, and the team is uncertain whether they'll force him to play against the Oakland Raiders.

Slay also added that he didn't care even if the team didn't talk to him as they shopped him around.

“I didn’t care if they did; that’s the thing,” Slay said. “The whole point of time, y’all don’t understand it that I didn’t care if I did. It is what it is. It’s a whole business. All I was doing here is playing ball, trying to win games.”

This nonchalant mentality won't probably sit well with some fans, but many should understand his point of view. The end goal of any football team is to win the Super Bowl, and they're going to be willing to trade players if it meant a better opportunity for them in the long run.

However, Slay wasn't traded. He can then focus on winning football games and ensure that the team didn't regret shipping him off.
