To say that the Detroit Lions are struggling right now would be an understatement. It would be like saying Eminem is a rapper out of Motor City.

The Lions suffered their sixth straight loss on Sunday after being humiliated by the Cincinnati Bengals, 34-11. Not to mention, the embarrassing defeat happened in front of home fans.

Veteran quarterback Jared Goff played another pedestrian game, going 28-of-42 for 202 yards with an interception. Many expected him to stir up the Lions after the team acquired him from the Los Angeles Rams this season. But so far, he's still aiming for his first win.

After the loss, Lions coach Dan Campbell didn't mince words when asked about Goff's performances (via Brad Galli of WXYZ Detroit).

“I don’t feel like we can accurately judge him one way or another. I feel he needs to step up more than he has.”

Goff had a sensational debut for the Lions, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers. But since then, he has struggled to find his rhythm. He had a strong showing in the second half against the Bengals on Sunday but it was too late.

Campbell, however, also took it upon himself to be accountable for their poor showing.

“That team is not 30 points better than us. Our focus wasn't there today, and that's on me. When your team gets whipped like that, you have to look at yourself first.”

Goff will continue to search for his first victory with the Lions as they take on—quite curiously—his former team next Sunday.
