The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be zeroing in on the person they want to replace Frank Vogel as the 27th head coach in franchise history.

According to independent NBA reporter Marc Stein, the Lakers' interest in Snyder, which throughout the NBA season's been an ongoing rumor up to this point, is reportedly very real and very serious.

The Lakers, two years removed from winning their 17th NBA title in franchise history, decided to move on from Coach Vogel following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 NBA season after three seasons with Vogel at the helm of the team.

Vogel finished his time as coach of the Lakers with a coaching record of 145-107, including 18-9 in the playoffs. The Lakers missed the playoffs this season for the only time in Vogel's three seasons with the team, finishing with an overall record of 33-49.

Despite the Lakers' interest in Snyder, there is a decent amount of skepticism that Snyder would leave the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz' organization following the exit of Dennis Lindsey from his position as the Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, gave Snyder a large amount of both influence and decision-making within the team, which leads to skepticism that Snyder would leave for an organization that would not even allow Vogel to choose his assistant coaches.

Whether Snyder is back in Utah or not next season, there is certain to be a lot of change and turmoil in the Jazz organization following another early playoff exit.

Reports are circulating that either Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Gobert could very well be on their way out of Salt Lake City via trade this summer.
