The Dallas Cowboys are opening their highly-anticipated 2020 campaign against the rebranded Los Angeles Rams on September 13. They will also make history as the first opposing team to set foot on the newly-built $5 billion SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The Cowboys are looking to get back to the playoffs after barely missing out due to a late Week 17 win by division rival Philadelphia Eagles — which mathematically eliminated them last season. On the other hand, the Rams still find themselves in a much-improved NFC West division, having missed the 2019 NFL Playoffs, a year after they made a Super Bowl LIII appearance.

Both teams are looking for redemption and football fans are expected to be treated to an entertaining affair featuring the two squads. Here are the three bold predictions for the Week 1 game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams:

3. Aaron Donald will have 1.5 sacks against the Cowboys' offensive line.

The Dallas Cowboys' offensive line was a force to be reckoned with in recent seasons. However, that won't likely be the case as the group finds itself in a shaky situation heading into the upcoming season.

Five-time Pro Bowl center Travis Frederick has already hanged his cleats after the 2019 season. Two-time Super Bowl champion offensive tackle Cameron Fleming also relocated to the New York Giants during the offseason.

The vacant spots will likely be rotated by young and unproven backups on the Cowboys' roster including third-year guard Connor Williams and rookie center Tyler Biadasz. The six-time Pro Bowler in Donald will aim to take advantage of the matchup problem and impose his will against the opposing offensive linemen.

2. The Cowboys' revamped defensive line will set the tone for the game.

Although the team still has gaping holes in their offensive line, the Cowboys' defensive line finds itself in a different situation and is deemed as one of the league's best heading into the upcoming season. This was a rotation that ended last season as the 10th best in passing defense, 11th in rushing defense, and 11th in scoring defense.

The trenches are still anchored by two-time Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence along with newly-acquired four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Everson Griffen. Free-agent signee nose tackle Dontari Poe will also look to join the mix in the rotation.
Returning players in defensive end Aldon Smith and linebacker Randy Gregory are looking to take steps in the right direction and make their respective comeback campaigns in 2020. The only question will be their cohesion as a unit, but the amount of talent on that end of the field should suffice and get the job done for the Dallas Cowboys.

1. The Cowboys will steal this win against the Rams.

There is no doubt that the Rams have a stifling defensive line at their disposal, bannered by the likes of Aaron Donald and the newly-extended Jalen Ramsey. However, the Cowboys' offense rotation is just too stacked from top to bottom for the Rams to handle.

In fact, the Cowboys absolutely lit up the Rams when the two teams met in Week 15 last season which ended in a 44-21 outcome. With a more improved roster, the Dallas-based team is looking to replicate the same success in their opening game matchup this season.

A huge chunk of Dallas' offense will rely on Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper and budding star Michael Gallup who both eclipsed the 1,000 receiving yard mark last season. The Cowboys will also feature one of the game's best running backs in Ezekiel Elliott along with promising rookie wideout CeeDee Lamb.

The Rams can only hope that the Cowboys will have chemistry issues on their first day together as a troupe headlined by countless new faces. Otherwise, America's team is likely poised to get their first win of the season by the end of Week 1 proceedings.
