Luis Suárez has had his name brought up amid the myriad of changes happening in Barcelona. The forward was said to follow the moves of Lionel Messi as his former lawyer Alejandro Balbi suggested it in a recent interview.

“Messi's future will have an influence on Suarez's because they are best friends, they get along on and off the pitch,” the lawyer told TyC Sports on Wednesday. “There is a lot of brotherly love between Messi and Suarez, they are inseparable, always together.”

The Uruguay international is hoping to clear the air after reports of a brief call between him and new manager Ronald Koeman, who reportedly told the striker his services were no longer needed. Those rumors were followed by Messi's burofax to Barcelona's directive, asking to activate the opt-out clause in his contract and leave Barcelona for good.

Barcelona feels that he can't activate the clause, having expired back on July 10. Messi's camp is confident the extraneous circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, which cause the season to extend months after its expected end, should warrant an exception to that rule.

Yet Luis Suárez isn't happy about others speaking on his behalf, especially when it's people outside of his inner circle:

“There are people talking about me or on my behalf when I have not had a relationship with them for years,” said Suárez. “When I need to speak, I'll speak for myself.”

There's no telling when the 33-year-old will speak about his incumbent future now that Barcelona has made his exit quite evident.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi is expected to address the Blaugrana fans in the near future, explaining his side of the story and revealing the motives for his exit from Barcelona after 20 years with the club.
