Aaron Gordon has come out with a clear statement following his recent decision to request for a trade away from the Orlando Magic. As it turns out, Gordon is no longer happy with how things stand with his current team.

Gordon faced the media following Orlando's 110-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets, and unsurprisingly, the biggest question on everyone's mind was “why?”. According to the 25-year-old, the trade request had been a long time coming:

“There’s been times where I just expressed my frustration to management — frustration with the losses, the injuries, the way we’ve been playing, how we’ve been playing and how many losses have accumulated over the years.” Gordon said, via Josh Robbins of The Athletic. “You know, it’s just my frustration kind of boiling over, I would say. I think a lot of people share that sentiment with me of frustration.”

Gordon has perpetually seen his name in trade rumors. While the Magic never really pursued any trade deals previously (as far as we know at least), the fact that he has always been seen as a trade target speaks volumes of Orlando's level of commitment towards him. Perhaps Gordon has grown tired of always being on the brink, so this time around, he decided to make the first move.

There have been a couple of teams that have been linked to the 6-foot-8 forward, but earlier reports stated that the Magic's asking price has dissuaded suitors. Gordon's price tag is likely going to take a hit following this recent development.
