The Orlando Magic notched their third straight win on Wednesday following a 119-96 blowout victory against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After the huge win, Magic forward Aaron Gordon shared how he believes his team's defense has played a pivotal role in their success.

Gordon and the Magic did a tremendous defensive number on the surging Julius Randle (28.4 points per game over his last five prior to his six-point dud against Orlando) on Wednesday as they were able to hold him to his worst outing in over a month.

Gordon was wonderful for the Magic on both ends of the floor, as the 23-year-old logged 20 points (on 7-of-15 shooting), four three-pointers, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block in 30 minutes of action.

Evan Fournier came up big with a highly-efficient 22-point performance (on 9-of-13 shooting), while big man Nikola Vucevic was his usual dominant self. notching a 15-point, 17-rebounds double-double with three swats.

This was a crucial victory for Orlando as they continue to close the gap on the eight-seeded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately for them, the Heat have also won three straight, and they continue to hold a game-and-a-half advantage over the Magic.

These two teams will face off on Tuesday next week in what should prove to be one of the most important games of the regular season for both squads. Whoever wins that crucial matchup will definitely have an advantage heading into the final few weeks of the regular season.
