Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic is still undecided whether he will play for his home country of Montenegro or not, hoping to resolve his free agency before saying if he will join his country's national team for the World Cup later this year.

“I’m waiting for the situation around the contract to be solved,” the Magic talent said, according to Stefan Djordjevic of EuroHoops. “Depending on where I’ll continue my career and will be the demands, I’ll decide on eventually playing for the Montenegrin national team. I hope I’ll have a clean situation far before the national team gathering scheduled for July 25, and be able to inform the staff and the public about my decision.”

Vucevic is coming off the best season of his career at the best of times, making this a tough decision for the Magic, as they could elect to re-sign him to a long-term deal.

The 28-year-old is satisfied with the Magic and while he’s been aware of teams being interested in him, he won't be hearing from them until six hours before July 1, part of the new changes allowing for easier and more fluid negotiations.

“Officially, there’s nothing yet and I don’t have any information,” said Nikola Vucevic. “Free agency starts on July 1 and until then any contact is forbidden. I’m satisfied in Orlando. This was our best season since I arrived. Everything clicked with the arrival of the new coach. We advanced to the playoffs surpassing all expectations and everything’s fine on that side. I’ve also been reading that many are interested but to be honest, I don’t know which teams want me. When I see all the offers, I’ll think and decide.”

Nikola Vucevic put up All-Star-worthy numbers with 20.8 points, 12 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game — earning his first selection to the team. Despite only earning $12.75 million in 2018-19, he's expected to make a lot more over a long-term deal.
