The Orlando Magic continue to bide their time as they wait on former first overall pick Markelle Fultz. Magic general manager John Hammond praised 6-foot-4 guard over the weekend, but also confirmed Fultz continues to have no firm timetable for his much-anticipated return to the court:

Fultz has yet to make his debut for the Magic following his move from the Philadelphia 76ers this past season. The 21-year-old was traded by the Sixers to Orlando in exchange for Jonathon Simmons and a couple of future draft picks in the middle of last season.

This was quite a risky move for the Magic, considering Fultz's well-documented injury history. Since being selected first overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, the former University of Washington standout only played in a grand total of 33 games for the Sixers in two seasons, in which he averaged 7.7 points (on 41.4 percent shooting), 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 0.9 steals in 20.6 minutes per contest.

Fultz's mysterious shoulder injury continues to hold him out from living up to all the hype surrounding him prior to his big move to the pro ranks. In his one-and-done year in college, he was able to put up 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, which catapulted him to becoming the consensus No. 1 pick in the draft.

It is worth noting that the Magic recently re-signed Michael Carter-Williams to a one-year deal, as he looks to be the primary backup to D.J. Augustin as Fultz continues to recover.
