The Orlando Magic have agreed to a two-way deal with guard Josh Magette — who played for the San Antonio Spurs in this year's Summer League.

Per Chris Hayes, the two parties have reached an agreement. After a good showing at the Summer League, the Magic have decided to offer the 29-year-old a two-way contract. Thus, Magette will spend some time with the Lakeland Magic, the Magic's G League affiliate.

Magette actually signed up for the draft in 2012 but was not selected. He went on the play ball abroad and also in the G League for teams such as the Los Angeles D-Fenders and Erie BayHawks. In 2017, he was selected into the G League All-Star game and was named into the All-NBA D-League Second Team. In 2018, he was the G League's assists leader.

In the 2017-2018 season, he played 18 games for the Atlanta Hawks where he averaged 2.6 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 rebounds across 12 minutes. In the Summer League, Magette averaged 5.7 assists which was second in the league behind Paris Lee's (Memphis Grizzlies) seven dimes per game.

Per Nick Gryniewicz, Magette will join a bunch of guards in the Magic roster.

Time will only tell if the Magic will field Magette for significant minutes. But the Magic definitely saw something special in him. Now he has to prove if he truly belongs in the NBA.
