Man City manager Pep Guardiola fires back at Raheem Sterling's recent comments regarding a possible transfer due to his contract issues with the club.

Sterling has openly shared the possibility of signing to another club amid his lack of playing time for City this season. The English winger had a spectacular stint for his country in Euro 2020 but has had some difficulties consistently starting for his club.

Man City boasts a stacked attacking regime with players like Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, and Ferran Torres, contributing to Sterling's lack of action on the pitch.

Guardiola addresses the ongoing talk of a possible departure and responds to Sterling's call for more minutes.

“Raheem is our player, hopefully, he will be an incredibly important player for us. I don't know if he wants to play more.”

“Riyad (Mahrez) doesn't play and he doesn't complain, Joao (Cancelo) too. I cannot assure them, I cannot assure how many minutes each one plays. Always they have to speak on the pitch,” Man City's boss stressed.

“Not Raheem, all of them. They know they are going to play minutes, all of them are involved.

“What I want from Raheem and everyone is they have to be satisfied to be here and delighted to be here. If that's not the case he has to take the best decision for his family.”

Man City sits at third in the Premier League table, sharing the same points as Man United and Everton.

To defend their league title, City will have to go through the revitalized lineups of clubs such as United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

One way or another, the club will make good use of Sterling's ability despite having reduced minutes this season.
