Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks out on Jesse Lingard's current role with the team, while the latter is experiencing some extra time on the bench.

Solskjaer himself has dealt with looming uncertainty surrounding his position all season. United has been inconsistent due to their atrocious performances against England's top clubs. However, as it stands, Solskjaer is still in complete control of determining who gets to see action across fixtures.

With Lingard's recent lack of minutes, some may wonder if he is still included in Solskjaer's plans.

“Jesse is training really hard, really well, and he’s ready and available for me,” Solskjaer said.

‘He’s disappointed he’s not played more… Jesse is still an important part of this squad, he gives energy to the group every day.”

Lingard was sent to West Ham on loan back in January of 2021. Since then, he put up a string of impressive performances— leading him to return to Man United.

This season, however, has been puzzling for Lingard and the entire team. Despite signing world-class talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane, United sits at sixth of the Premier League table.

Amid the team's recent struggles and lack of playing time, Lingard has a few months left on his contract with MAn United and has not responded to talks of signing an extension.

What's next for Lingard? Should he stay with United or find some valuable playing time elsewhere?
