Marcus Rashford has struggled to find consistent form for Manchester United throughout the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, but that doesn't seem to be impacting his future with the club. After rumors emerged regarding a potential move to PSG, ESPN reported Tuesday that Manchester United have made extending Rashford's contract a priority.

Rashford's current contract is set to run expire in June of 2023 and features a one-year extension clause. Despite not necessarily needing to tackle the issue of Rashford's contract just yet, the rumors linking the English star to Mauricio Pochettino's PSG may force United's hand. It's worth noting, however, that Pochettino has been heavily linked to the potentially vacant Manchester United job and could possibly make the switch back to the Premier League as early as this summer.

Pochettino taking over at United would likely reduce the possibility of Rashford leaving the club, as the Argentinian skipper is believed to be a big admirer of the 24-year-old.

Manchester United have seen the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard opt to run out the remainder of their contracts, both set to expire in June. The pair will become free agents at the end of the season, able to sign wherever they please without Manchester United getting any form of compensation. The club clearly don't want to risk a similar situation occurring with Rashford, so tying him down on a long-term deal has become a priority for the English giants.

This season in the Premier League, Rashford has featured in 11 matches for the Red Devils, scoring just two goals and contributing one assist. Prior to this season, Rashford had scored double-digit goals and provided no fewer than six assists in each of the past three years.
