Manchester United is looking to make some sweeping changes to the roster this summer. After it was reported that Erik Ten Hag would be backed with as much as £120,000,000 in the summer window, the new Manchester United boss has identified players atop his shortlist of transfer targets. Defense will be a key area of focus for Ten Hag in the summer window, and he's identified at least four defenders whom he's keen on bringing to Old Trafford.

Among the players Ten Hag is interested in signing at Manchester United include a handful of his former stars at Ajax. Defenders such as Jurrien Timber, Lisandro Martinez, and Matthijs de Ligt are all in play for Ten Hag, having all developed into star players under his watch. Additionally, Villarreal star Pau Torres is also said to be of interest to Manchester United this summer, as they look to bolster the defense amid a disappointing campaign.

Ten Hag has also expressed extreme interest in reuniting with Frenkie de Jong, who is currently at Barcelona. Ten Hag was Ajax's manager when they made their impressive Champions League run. Part of that team's core included current United midfielder Donny van de Beek, de Jong, de Ligt, and Martinez, all of whom the club is now being linked to.

Additionally, it seems Brazilian winger Antony, who impressed in the Eredivisie for Ajax this season, could be among the attacking options who have captured Ten Hag's interest.

By and large, it looks like Ten Hag is trying to bring as many familiar faces with him to Manchester as possible in order to have a foundation of players he trusts as he enters one of football's toughest coaching jobs.
