The second-round series between the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics has been filled with physical play and even trash talk. And according to Wizards big man Marcin Gortat, some of that trash talk has been nasty and downright threatening.

According to Gortat, Celtics guard Avery Bradley actually threatened to beat him up. Bradley apparently said this because he was tired of Gortat's hard screens.

From Poland's Onet Sport, translated by DJ Bean of CSN New England:

[Isaiah] Thomas said after the second game: we do not like them, they do not like us …

“Which is a popular story with the media. This hostility thing between these two teams looks a bit different, though. We play tougher, but we only care about our own team, while they want to provoke us. Avery Bradley approached me last game and said that if I set one more screen, he’s going to beat me up.”

And what was the reply?

“I laughed at him. I advised him to come to come back when he grows up and gains some weight. It really is the Celtics who get excited with this. In other words, they build their unity around their disliking of the Wizards players.”

Gortat is a massive man compared to Bradley, so it is shocking to hear that the Celtics guard had the utmost confidence when trash talking the Wizards big man. But you never know, Bradley plays with no fear so perhaps that's the reason for his confident claim.

It's also worth considering that these are all coming from Gortat, so it could be untrue or exaggerated. Either way though, this is yet another example of the drama that exists between the Wizards and Celtics.
