Marcus Smart caused quite a stir during Game 2 of his team's first round matchup against the Chicago Bulls. At the midway point of the fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics guard pointed flipped off a fan, raising his middle finger at him.

His obscene gesture cost him a lot of money as the NBA slapped him with a $25,000 fine. Smart recently spoke to Jay King of Mass Live to explain what led to his action.

“Something was said, and I reacted a little differently than I should have.”

“To be honest, after it happened, I kind of lost the train of thought of what was said. I can't really remember it.”

With the Celtics now facing a 0-2 deficit, and the series heading to Chicago, the team's fans are hoping that will be the last time he acts that way, as it may cause further distraction to the team. The C's cannot afford any slip ups anymore as they are already in danger of becoming just the fourth top-seeded team to be eliminated by an eighth seed.
