Tiger Woods did it. No, Tiger wasn't all that competitive at the 2022 Masters after a strong start, but he was able to finish all 72 holes after making the cut. That in itself is a major accomplishment in his first competitive tournament after his terrible car accident in early 2021.

Woods made the cut at 1-over through two rounds, but he shot consecutive rounds of 78 over the weekend to finish at 13-over for the tournament. As he walked off the 18th hole at Augusta National, Tiger gave his assessment of his performance at the Masters.

Via CBS Sports' Kyle Porter:

“I had the same questions [about whether I could complete four rounds]. It was an unbelievable feeling to just have the patrons and the support out there,” Woods told CBS after walking off the course on Sunday. “I wasn't exactly playing my best out there, but to just have the support out there — an appreciation from all the fans — I don't think words can really describe that given where I was a little over a year ago and what my prospects were at that time.

“To end up here and be able to play all four rounds, even a month ago, I didn't know if I could pull this off. I think it was a positive. I've got some work to do, and I'm looking forward to it.”

Tiger had the full support of the Masters crowd as he finished up his round:

This was a miracle return for Tiger, and now he's going to try to continue to get better as he prepares for his next tournament, whenever that may be. He has already committed to playing in The Open Championship at St. Andrews in July. He's not sure about the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in May, but he wouldn't rule it out.

Either way, it was great to see Tiger Woods back out there at the Masters, and hopefully he'll be able to make the magic happen in a future major.
