Following the disorderly conduct charges he received for an incident that happened in a nightclub in New York back in December, the Golden State Warriors swingman Matt Barnes has pleaded guilty to them on Tuesday. He has reportedly avoided jail time, but will need to perform 10 days of community service, according to the AFP via Yahoo! Sports.

“Golden State Warriors forward Matt Barnes pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct but avoided jail time following a December incident at a New York nightclub.”

“Barnes was ordered to perform 10 days of community service and allowed to do the work in California. He was given until August 29, the next hearing date, to complete the work.”

The incident happened when Barnes and his former teammate with the Sacramento Kings, DeMarcus Cousins, were partying inside a club and apparently attacked three people inside. Footage even surfaced when the two left the scene, with Boogie bragging that he saw him knock two of them out with ease, while the third one, a woman, reportedly choked by him.

Barnes was waived back in February by the Kings and was picked up by with the Warriors following the knee injury to Kevin Durant, appearing in a total of 32 games for them, including the playoffs. Despite a lesser role off the bench, he provided the team with quality minutes and helped them win their second championship in three years.

His fans are hoping he can put all his off-court troubles in the past and focus on basketball instead. Now at 37-years-old, it’s unclear how many more seasons he’ll play in the NBA, but if he’ll be able to stay off any more issues outside the court, it could be the fitting ending to his long career as a professional.
