The Dallas Mavericks got trolled in the worst way on Thursday night after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics. The Mavericks were decimated by the man they previously traded, Kristaps Porzingis, who poured in 18 points by halftime en route to player of the game honors.

Three key takeaways were revealed after the game that Mavs fans should know about the loss. A story involving longtime, former Warriors GM Bob Myers and Kyrie Irving also surfaced.

Fans went crazy on X after the devastating Game 1 loss as they went off on the absurdity of Dallas losing to its former star player.

Porzingis barely had to break a sweat in the second half of Thursday night's game as the Celts put the Mavericks on ice.

The former Maverick finished with 20 points, six rebounds and three blocks on the night. A picture of him smiling wide next to Luka Doncic bent over in frustration was revealed.

“He got his revenge out of the way,” one fan said. “Mavs in 6.”

Another fan was not so kind to the reeling Mavericks after their Game 1 loss.

“Kristaps owns the Mavericks and every big man on their team,” he said.

“KP and Brown really ATE today,” another fan added.

Mavericks' bright spots in Game 1

Coach Jason Kidd and the Mavericks did get 30 points and 10 rebounds from Luka Doncic, although he shot less than 50 percent on the night. PJ Washington had 14 points for Dallas and youngster Jaden Hardy had 13 points off the bench. That was about it as far as bright spots go for Coach Kidd's team with Dallas now left to lick its wounds before Game 2 starts this Sunday, June 9.

Kyrie Irving was uncharacteristically quiet, unable to get the better of his former team the way Porzingis did. Irving had just 12 points and three assists. Better nights await, as they certainly can't get much worse than what happened on Thursday.
