A tough matchup lies ahead of the Dallas Mavericks. The Luka Doncic-led squad is facing a Los Angeles Lakers team that is eager to get their below .500 record to break even. This means a lot of physical basketball is being played between both squads. But, Jason Kidd and their fanbase had to hold their breath for a while after Kyrie Irving collided with LeBron James.

Kyrie Irving had to immediately be taken to the locker room after the hit. He was evaluated by the staff. Eventually, Irving was able to return to face the Lakers before the second quarter ended, per ClutchPoints.

So far, he has been a Swiss army knife to help the Mavericks catch up. In just 12 minutes of action, Irving racked up three boards, assists, and points. Their efforts were all led by Luka Doncic. Number 77 is showing why he has that magic in him against LeBron James‘ squad by scoring 13 points and dropping five dimes. He also managed to grab eight rebounds all before the sixth minute of the second quarter even hit.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell have been playing big minutes. The guard has scored 10 points while dropping two assists and grabbing two rebounds. Davis, on the other hand, racked up 10 points so far by sinking five out of his six attempts on the field. James also has nine points and three dimes.

It will be a long night for Jason Kidd and the Mavericks. Thankfully, Irving can stay to give them a massive offensive boost.
