Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis is liking the team's new system as the Mavs go on to embarrass the Charlotte Hornets with a huge preseason win. The Latvian was cooking early in the Mavs' first road game this preseason and KP has nothing to thank but the fresh system upgrade Dallas got with new head coach Jason Kidd.

Porzingis exploded in the first half, scoring 17 points while shooting 7/8 from the field (including 2/3 from deep) and even added seven boards and a couple of steals. KP and the rest of the Mavs' didn't need to do much more in the second half with the team up big as the Hornets fell flat and couldn't get things going.

“I'm being put into situations I'm most comfortable, and I think you can see that.” Porzingis said after the 127-59 win (via Callie Caplan of Dallas News).

Comfortable is definitely the perfect word after seeing Porzingis play these past few games. With Kidd calling the shots, the 26-year-old All-Star seems to have found a renewed sense of confidence as he continues to start for the Mavs and it does seem that he's certainly way more at ease with his current role while guys like Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway, Jr. do their thing.

More importantly, the Mavs have won all of their three preseason games so far and things are looking good again for the Texas-based franchise. Their last task before the season starts will be to face the defending champs the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
