The MFFL nation rejoiced as Luka Doncic returned to the floor for the Dallas Mavericks against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday after sitting out the last four games due to an ankle injury.
The Slovenian star got to work right away and looked like he didn't miss a beat, dropping 13 points, five assists and three rebounds in 17 minutes of play in the first half.
Prior to the start of the second canto, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich talked about Doncic's return to the floor. The usually soft-spoken mentor couldn't help but marvel at the second year player.
“I think we did pretty well. Luka's a beast. He seems to have his way with us and we have to do a better job with him. Overall, if we could hold people below 20 in a quarter we're pretty happy”.
There was rust whatsoever for Doncic as he shot 5-for-10 from the field and went 1-4 from three in the first 24 minutes. Dallas went 2-2 during their Eastern Conference road trip in his four game absence.
