This escalated pretty quickly. Kristaps Porzingis reportedly met with the Knicks to discuss the future of the franchise. Now, he's reportedly headed to Dallas to play alongside Mavs rookie phenom Luka Doncic.
The Knicks finally get their young point guard in Smith Jr. Many people believe the Knicks should have drafted Smith Jr. instead of Frank Ntilikina. Doncic and Smith Jr. weren't able to co-exist in Dallas.
Kristaps Porzingis is still recovering from the ACL tear he suffered last season. It is unknown when the star power forward will be able to play, but he got his wish to get out of New York. The Knicks have been a walking disaster for years now, while the Mavs have one of the best owners and cultures in the NBA.
DeAndre Jordan signed a one-year deal with Dallas last summer. Now the high-flyer will be playing in Madison Square Garden. Jordan and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant are close friends, as an FYI.
