On day 1 of the restart, Chris Bosh showed up in virtual form. For the Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets game on Friday night, a very familiar face pulled up in the stands. Only, it wasn't really him. As seen below, Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki appeared on screen in cutout fashion during the contest.

The NBA is doing everything it can to make the 2019-20 season restart seem as normal as possible. Thus, the league incorporated a virtual audience to enhance the game viewership amidst these current circumstances due to the coronavirus situation.

300 people are able to join the live broadcast as fans. Apparently, one decided to put the German legend on the screen, which certainly put a smile on Mavs fans' faces.

Unfortunately, Friday wasn't a very delightful day for Dallas. The Mavs blew a chance to inch closer to the Houston Rockets, losing a close game in overtime, 153-149.

Dallas looked well on their way to notching their 41st win of the season when they had a 7-point lead with less than a minute remaining. The Mavs had several chances to close out the Rockets in regulation. Seth Curry missed a free-throw that would have given them a four-point cushion.

Instead, with a 3-point lead, Dallas elected to foul to prevent a three-point shot from the Rockets. After James Harden made the first free-throw, the Rockets superstar missed the second. Unfortunately, Dallas wasn't able to box out on the miss and Robert Covington converted a putback to tie the game and force the extra session. Houston managed to take control in OT to move into 5th place in the Western Conference standings.

With the bad loss, it's safe to say that cutout Dirk didn't have a happy night on Friday.
