Fans and players throughout the NBA know how special of a player Luka Doncic is. Fellow players even cede that the Dallas Mavericks star is one of the best young players the league has seen today. Ahead of the Rising Stars Challenge that Team USA won, 151-131, the Memphis Grizzlies guard and a couple of others were asked by the media about how impressive Doncic has been playing in his two years in the league. All of them sang the praises of the Slovenian superstar, but Morant went into specifics of what makes the Mavs' point forward a special player.

Per Mavericks' Dwain Price:

“He’s a great player and a special talent,” Morant said. “He can score from all three levels and he gets his teammates involved.”

Doncic is playing incredible basketball in only his second season for the Mavs. He turned the Mavs into a strong playoff team with his incredible scoring and passing talent. He is averaging 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists a night on 47% shooting. His electrifying play turned the Mavs into one of the must-watch teams in the NBA today.

However, Morant is also doing very well in his debut campaign for the Grizzlies. He's etched his reputation as one of the more exciting point guards to watch throughout the league. He's putting up numbers that looks similar to Luka's performance last season at 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. He's the runaway favorite to win Rookie of the Year unless Zion Williamson somehow manages to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to the playoffs.

These are exciting times for the league as there is plenty of exciting young talent in the team. Fans will be assured that quality basketball will be played as the decade moves forward.
