After the Dallas Mavericks fell in Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors, Jason Kidd made sure to send some words of motivation towards his superstar in Luka Doncic.

Doncic gave it his all and even made several kinds of history in the Mavs' Cinderella run to the Western Conference Finals, so it goes without saying that the defeat to the Warriors was pretty tough for him. Kidd, however, didn't want the Slovenian star to get discouraged and reminded him that all the great players in the history of the NBA also failed before making their mark with an NBA championship.

“We’re going to get better from this, and we’re going to learn. It’s all right to fail. Don’t feel like you came up short. The great ones have always failed and found a way to improve going forward to win a championship,” Kidd shared on what he told the Mavs star after their playoffs exit per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

The Mavs already surprised a lot of people with their shocking run to the West Finals, and they did so by beating the Utah Jazz and top-seeded Phoenix Suns with just one All-Star in Luka Doncic. With that said, imagine what they can achieve next season after experiencing the highs and lows of the playoffs.

Not to mention that the Mavs are largely expected to make significant roster upgrades this offseason. If they can pair up another All-Star with Luka Doncic or address their needs in the frontcourt, then it's not hard to see them returning to the West Finals in 2022-23.

As Jason Kidd said it, they are only going to get better from their experience, and that's what matters.
