The Dallas Mavericks blew a 17-point lead to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night. Prior to this, the Mavs had been 24-0 since the start of last season when entering the fourth quarter with a double-digit lead. The Nets posted their eighth comeback win of 15-plus points since the start of last season which is tied with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder for most since then.

This was a tough loss for the Mavs as they were looking to get a win against a quality opponent. Unfortunately for them, things like this are going to happen because they simply don't have enough talent to compete with the top teams in the NBA. If they're going to want to make any sort of noise in the Western Conference playoffs, they're going to need to make some additions during the trade deadline. A team with Luka Doncic needs to be formed correctly and the Mavs just haven't done so.

The Mavs were in control for most of this game but failed to close it out as they got outscored 27-13 in the fourth quarter. Luka did everything that he can as he was able to drop 28 points for the Mavs, but unfortunately, none of his other teammates were able to step up in the fourth quarter and help the Mavs secure a victory.

Dallas now falls to under .500 on the season as they are 11-12. They will take on a tough Memphis Grizzlies team on Wednesday night.
