The 2020 All-Star Game is only a few days away, and first-time All-Stars like Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is excited to play. However, there's a Michael Jordan-sized reason that Luka is excited to head to Chicago for the weekend.

The Jordan Brand picked up Doncic as its latest athlete this season due to his incredible sophomore campaign. The signing was a no-brainer for the Mavs' All-Star as he's long admired Jordan's ability to win basketball games. The mere prospect of meeting the Charlotte Hornets owner in the city he built was one of the biggest things in Doncic's bucket list.

Per Dallas Morning News' Callie Caplan:

Doncic has performed so well this season that many are already placing him in the MVP conversation usual suspects like Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, and James Harden. The Mavs point guard's season averages — 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists — makes it easy to understand why he's considered a favorite to win the season's top regular-season individual award.

Jordan was quick to notice the phenomenal impact Doncic has on the team and described how impressive Luka has been so far. Per B/R Kicks:

“Luka is a phenomenal player, and at such a young age. He's demonstrating skill it takes many guys years to develop. It will be incredible to watch him continue to advance in the league.”

Such high praise being given by one of the best players to ever lace them up would be enough to make a fan stutter. However, his 33-point, 12-rebound, and eight-assist outing against the Sacramento Kings show that Jordan's faith in him is not unfounded conjecture.

Dallas fans will definitely be eager to see how the two will interact once the All-Star Weekend gets underway.
