Dallas Mavericks sensation Luka Doncic has big expectations for the Mavs' newly acquired guard Delon Wright.

In an interview with Dwain Price of Mavs.com, Doncic admits he is looking forward to playing with Wright, who he expects to make a big impact on the team and on him.

“He’s a point guard and he can make things easier for me and easier for the team. So I’m excited to have him,” Doncic said.

The Mavs acquired Wright in a sign-and-deal with the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason, sending two future second-round picks in the process. The 27-year-old Wright owns career averages of 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

All eyes will be focused on Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis and if their partnership will work. However, Wright and Dallas' other role players will have a vital role in determining whether they will succeed or not.

Wright's production has increased over the past four seasons, and the Mavs are hoping he keeps improving. He might have to wrestle with Seth Curry for minutes, but he might also slide to the shooting guard spot when needed.

Overall, Wright is a good pickup for the Mavs. He's still young and with a significant amount of experience under his belt, he might be able to serve as a mentor to the other young guys on the team.
