The Dallas Mavericks are not divulging the true severity of Luka Doncic's injury and his status for Game 1 in their first-round playoffs clash with the Utah Jazz. However, Spencer Dinwiddie doesn't think his Mavs superstar teammate will miss any game at all.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday as they gear up for the playoffs, Dinwiddie shared that based on the information he has, Doncic seems poised to be available for the Mavs when they host the Jazz in the weekend.
“I haven’t gotten any indication that he won’t be, so I’m preparing as if he will be. They haven’t told us anything. They haven’t said be ready,” Dinwiddie said when asked if Doncic will play Game 1, per team reporter Dwain Price.
Luka Doncic sustained a left calf strain in the third quarter of their final regular season game against the San Antonio Spurs. He left the contest and never went back, eventually undergoing an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

Of course Dallas is likely trying to limit the information their opponents can get since Doncic is undoubtedly the biggest factor for them come playoff time. Who knows, the Mavs might be doing it to get the Jazz to be complacent only to surprise them with the availability of Luka.
However, until the Mavs confirm Doncic's status for the contest, fans can only pray and hope that he'll be really ready for Game 1 just like what Spencer Dinwiddie said.
