Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings due to a toe injury, but it doesn't look like he'll be out for long.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, there is “no concern” that Doncic's sprained toe is a significant injury. That means the Mavs are just being cautious when they opted to rest him him and that he could be out for just one game.

Of course some fans will not be happy with the fact that Luka Doncic won't be able to suit up against the Kings, especially as the team tries to climb up the fourth seed in the West or at least protect the fifth seed. They are two and half games behind the Utah Jazz to crack the Top 4, but they are also only one game ahead of the Denver Nuggets.

With that said, Saturday's showdown could be critical down the stretch as the fight for playoff positioning heats up.

The Mavs, however, have every reason to make sure Doncic is as healthy as possible entering the playoffs. After trading Kristaps Porzingis, Dallas showed that they are ready to compete as a one-star team with solid role players around that superstar. With that, they really can't afford to take any risk when it comes to the health of the young Slovenian.

In Luka's absence, Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans will be tasked to carry the scoring load. With Maxi Kleber also sidelined, Dwight Powell and Dorian Finney-Smith will have to be on point stopping Domantas Sabonis.
