Dallas Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis were ruled out for Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, and based on Jason Kidd's update, it looks like they could miss some more games.

According to Kidd, Doncic's ankle injury is the same issue he sustained that caused him to miss three straight games last November. The Mavs coach called it a “lingering” injury, suggesting that Doncic hasn't really fully recovered from it. Luka got an MRI on his left ankle to determine the severity of the injury, but Kidd didn't give an update on what the scans showed.

“He’s been sore. It’s just been a busy stretch of games,” Kidd said of Doncic's health issue, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

While the injury doesn't seem serious, it's possible for the Mavs to err on the side of caution as they hope to get Luka Doncic fully healthy.

As for Kristaps Porzingis, he missed Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a knee contusion. The Mavs coach pointed out that the Latvian big man is still “getting treatment,” though it is unknown if he'll miss more games or if he could get back soon.

The Mavs are certainly extremely shorthanded against the Grizzlies. The team lost in all three games that Luka missed this season, which is not a good sign even if they play a Memphis team also missing their best player in Ja Morant.

However, the Mavs can only hope that Luka and Kristaps' injuries are not that serious and they won't be sidelined for long.
