Dallas Mavericks rising star Luka Doncic is having a sensational sophomore campaign. However, the Slovenian Sensation has been struggling with keeping his temper in check, especially with referees' calls.

Aljosa Persak of Vecer asked Doncic's fellow countryman Goran Dragic what he would advise the 20-year old on how to deal with the officials. Obviously, Doncic is the man in Dallas right now, and the Miami Heat point guard said that Doncic just needs to deal better with being the target of opposing teams on a nightly basis.

Q: As an experienced NBA player, what would you advise Luka regarding his weaknesses? He's often derailed by the referees' decisions.

A: That's the Balkan blood, we cannot eradicate that (laughs). This just proves how badly he wants to win. Frustrations come, one has to work on that. When I was a younger player, my tempers were also flying high. Luka is smart. However, they will now attack him on defense. He has a very big responsibility on the offense, so they'll get on him more, and try to wear him out so that more and more plays go through him on both sides of the court. This will be a good challenge for Dallas.

Doncic and Dragic go a long way being teammates on the Slovenian national team.

In fact, the two could have been backcourt partners this season as the Mavs and Heat reportedly had a deal in place that could have landed Dragic in Dallas. Unfortunately, the trade did not push through.

Nonetheless, both Doncic and Dragic are enjoying winning seasons with their respective squads. The 2019 Rookie of the Year is having an MVP-caliber campaign, leading the Mavs to the 6th best record in the Western Conference. Dragic, meanwhile, is flourishing as a sixth man in Miami, helping them become the surprise team of the NBA this season.
