Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic gobbled up a career-high 18 rebounds in their 118-97 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Asked about his achievement, the Mavs guard simply attributed it to how the ball just found him as he just stood beneath the basket, via Eddie Sefko of Mavs.com.

Really, Luka? We all know he's kidding anyway.

Along with his 18 caroms, Doncic also scored 33 points on 9-of-18 shooting. He also converted five three-pointed and handed out five dimes in just 28 minutes.

For a guy who isn't really known for his athleticism, the Slovenian Sensation really does a great job at racking up those boards.

Doncic already has 11 games this season in which he finished with double-digit rebounds. He also continues to rack up the triple-doubles with already seven such outings through 20 games.

On the season, the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year is averaging 10.3 rebounds. That is also good for no. 14 in the league and first among all guards. He also leads the Mavs in total rebounds and defensive rebounds.

Doncic grabbing the defensive board allows him to run Dallas' offense on the fly and also gives them a chance to run in transition. This dynamic is one of the reasons why the Mavericks have the best offense in the league so far this season.

The 20-year old superstar has been nothing short of spectacular in his sophomore campaign. It seems like he just finds a way to accomplish something amazing with every game he plays.

The Mavericks can only go as high as Doncic takes them. The question is, does he even have a ceiling?
