Luka Doncic has been on the receiving end of a ton of criticism after the Mavs were blitzed by the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of their second-round matchup. Chris Paul hounded Luka in the fourth quarter to expose his defensive shortcomings and it resulted in the Suns blowing out Dallas, 129-109.

Colin Cowherd has shared his two cents worth about the incident and the renowned broadcaster argues that the Mavs superstar could be the second coming of James Harden. Cowherd explained how like Harden, Doncic tends to get gassed towards the latter part of games simply because of his extremely high usage rate. This makes Luka a liability.

Cowherd then presented a solution to this problem. According to the sports radio personality, the Mavs stud should follow in the footsteps of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant in terms of recruiting star players to Dallas:

“You also need Luka to do seomthing that it's quite possible international stars don't feel comfortable doing — getting on the phone and recruiting a player,” Cowherd said. “LeBron does it. KD does it. Steph does it. That’s the NBA model.”

Cowherd also pointed out how Doncic “hated” his former teammate Kristaps Porzingis. He believes that Luka has to be better and he has to make more of an effort to “make it work.”

It's hard to argue against Cowherd here after seeing what CP3 and the Suns did to the Mavs superstar in Game 2. Clearly, Luka Doncic cannot do it all on his own.
