The Dallas Mavericks are off to a bad start this 2020-21 season, and superstar guard Luka Doncic understands that he needs to get back to the MVP level he showed last season to get the Mavs out of their slump.

With that said, after another frustrating loss–this time at the hands of the Charlotte Hornets–the Slovenian youngster decided to stay on the court and put up some shots from the 3-point territory.

Luka Doncic had a poor showing against the Hornets, finishing with only 12 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals. He also had three turnovers, but what was uncharacteristic of Luka was his four made shots on just 10 attempts overall.

The Mavs star also went 0-of-5 from the 3-point arc, which is probably why he decided to work on his long-range shooting after the contest.

For what it's worth, Luka noted that his legs were really tired against the Hornets, though he emphasized it was not an excuse for his poor performance. Dallas lost the game, 118-99, a rather surprising result considering that the team blew out the Los Angeles Clippers by 51 points in their previous outing.

The Mavs fell to 1-3 on the season, putting them at 12th place in the Western Conference standings. Dallas will start the new year with a three-game road trip, starting in Florida against the Miami Heat before playing the struggling Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets in back-to-back nights.
